Women Shift Digital at Level39 on 26th November 2013

Women Shift Digital‘  a day designed, curated and produced by body>data>space to celebrate women in digital careers, network the networks and influence the influencers, was successfully held at Level 39, Canary Wharf on Tuesday 26th November 2013.

Around 200 speakers and participants, both women and men, from very different backgrounds and sectors (creative industries, education, business, design, skills development and the arts) shared their experience, discussed in depth the positive values of gender balance in digital careers and the issues that women are still facing in their professional pathways. We also focused on what men can do to be part of the shift that needs to happen, the need for women at the baseline of design and creation process and how to encourage young women (and mums!) to embrace digital careers.

‘Be bold in your competence’ was the quote of the day from Janet Thomas (Vice President of Women in Banking and Finance)

Participants followed the conference online on the web-stream powered by Kinura and joined the debate on Twitter #WomenShiftDigital. The day trended on Twitter in London, with over 2000 individual tweets reaching over 1 million people worldwide.

More content from the day (videos and report) will be published on this website in the coming weeks with final reports and edits to be e-published in January 2014.

A series of Internships and a Training Package offered to young female professionals, were announced on the day by our partners QA, SmartEU and Taylor Wessing so keep watching this space to know more about the application process.
